With his first release, iMAYSi beckons to the sky in the EP’s title track, "Sun Shine My Way".  The song is so many metaphors of hope for positive outcomes, encouragement through tough times, and inspiration to realize the substance of our dreams.  "There were so many things that could have prevented me from finishing this project.  The inspiration to get it done was that ray of sunshine, on that cloudy day, and that warm feeling... inspiring me to utter the words 'sun... shine my way'."

 

The path to releasing Sun Shine My Way is iMAYSi’s own story of realizing dreams.  Working with producers, musicians, and other artists from New York to Virginia.  “Throughout my lifetime, people told me ‘You’re always singing.’  Like any music lover, you can’t help but repeat melodic riffs of clever word sequences.  I always felt like I wanted to write music.  Then one day, with some aggressive encouragement... lol... I started creating my own.“

 

The love was always there.  This Flint, Michigan native was born to a family abundant with vocal talent.  Number four out of eleven children, iMAYSi and his siblings got their first music lessons from their mother, who taught them all to blend harmonically. 

 

“I’m ever so grateful for this opportunity to offer everyone who listens to this EP a chance to get the same feeling I got when I wrote ‘Sun Shine My Way’, staring out the window, watching the sun light slowly peer through the clouds after days of rain.  The next single on the EP is a true to life, boy meets girl song, ‘What Could I Say’.  Then there’s a fun little feel good song about putting on your best you with ‘Put Your Sexy On’.  Finally, there’s one of my personal favorites, ‘Girl Of My Dreams’.
